Root Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200 using CF-Auto Root – How To

Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200 is the latest Samsung’s high-end flagship device. So if you have Galaxy Note 5 and want to root it, then we have a step-by-step guide given below. Thanks to Chainfire for their CF Auto Root file for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200. All you need to have a Windows-based PC and your device should be running on android 6.0.1 with built ID MMB29K.N9200ZHU2BPC4 and Odin flashing tool. Now go ahead and follow the instructions.

Things To Remember:

Note: This guide can be used only for Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200 running on Android 6.0.1 with built id MMB29K.N9200ZHU2BPC4.

Data Backup: Take a full backup of all your important data and settings like contacts, pictures, videos, music before proceeding to the rooting instructions.

Make sure that the battery level of your Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200 should be at least about 60-70 charged to avoid unexpected shutdowns during the rooting process.

Steps To Root Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200 using CF-Auto Root:

Step No
First download and install Samsung USB Drivers for your Galaxy Note 5 on your PC. If you have already Samsung USB Drivers installed on your PC then Skip this Step and go ahead.

Step No 2Download CF-Auto Root file on your PC and unzip the root files on the desktop. Once the file are extracted, you’ll see these files:


Step No 3:- Turn OFF the Galaxy Note 5 to boot into Download Mode.

Step No 4:- Now turn ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power keys at same time for a few seconds to enter into Download Mode.


Step No 5:- While your phone is in the Download mode and shows a Warning Yellow Triangle Sign, then press the Volume Up key to continue.

Step No 6:- Run Odin3 that you have already downloaded (Step No 2) and you can find it in the extracted files on your computer. Next,

Step No 7:- Connect your device with PC using its USB data cable.


Step No 8:- Once the Galaxy Note 5 is connected to the computer successfully, “Added” message will be displayed on Odin automatically after the device is recognized.

Step No 9:- Click on the AP button in Odin and select the CF-Auto-Root.tar file.



Step No 10:- Next, click on the Start button in Odin to initiate the Flashing process.

Step No 11:- This flashing process might take 30-50 seconds to finish the rooting process on your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9200. After the rooting process is successfully completed, a Green Box with Pass text will be appeared in Odin and your device will re-boot automatically.


Step No 12:-  Now, disconnect your phone from the PC. Open Applications Menu on your Smartphone and Find SuperSU App to check either your device is successfully rooted or not. If you can see the SuperSU app then you administrative rights over the internal file system of your device.

    Well thanks for your contribution.But in my case its extraordinary.its all because the mobile note 5 was gifted to me from my cousin over there in Swiss. So its very hard for me to do whatever i find internet guides. the exact problem of my mobile is that i got stuck in the reboot screen and still i am stuck here. To get connected to pc, i don’t even have opportunity to do so. here i find an open message box and took the chance to ask u Sir. And i hope to get replied back as soon as possible with solution to this very situation. thank you sir.
