How to Root HTC 10 on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with SuperSU

HTC 10 owners have some good news that you can now root your HTC 10 smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow using SuperSU app. If you want to install custom ROMs, recoveries or third-party apps that need administrative privileges then you’ll be required to get root access first on your phone. Most of the users choose to root the Android operating system on the HTC 10 smartphone to install more apps.

HTC 10 came with Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820, Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo, 4GB RAM, 12MP Camera, 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Download and install HTC 10 USB Driver on your PC.

Enable USB debugging mode on your Smartphone by navigating to Settings > Developer options and tap on USB debugging check box.

Data Backup: Take a full backup of all your important data and settings like contacts, pictures, videos, music before proceeding to the rooting instructions.

Make sure that the battery level of your HTC 10 should be at least about 60-70 charged to avoid unexpected shutdowns during the rooting process.

Steps To Root HTC 10 On Android 6.0 Marshmallow:

Step No 1:- First, download the latest version of SuperSU (version 2.74) from this link on the desktop of your PC.

Step No 2:- Now plug your HTC 10 smartphone to the PC using its USB data cable.

Step No 3:- Transfer the downloaded SuperSU 2.74 .zip file to the root folder of your internal storage SD card.

Step No 4:- Unplug your phone from the PC, once the file is copied.

Step No 5:- Power OFF the HTC 10 and power it ON while pressing and holding the hardware key combination for the stock recovery mode and the custom recovery you installed earlier will boot up on the display.

Step No 6:- Navigate to the main recovery menu and tap on the Install button. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the SuperSU from your internal storage.

Step No 7:- Choose the option to reboot the system from the main recovery menu.

Done! You have successfully rooted your HTC 10 smartphones running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
