How To Root Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C with CF-Auto Root Method
Chainfire’s Auto Root package is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C variants. So if you have SM-N920C model then you can easily gain root access over the internal file system of your device to install third-party apps, custom recoveries, various ROMs and enhance its battery life. Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C came with Exynos 7420 Octa chipset, Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU, 4 GB RAM and Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box which is upgradable to v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Now follow the given instructions carefully.
Note: Please note that this guide can be used for Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C running on Android 6.0.1 running with MMB29K.N920CXXU2BPB9 built id only. Do not use this root package for any other device or incorrect variant.

Data Backup: Take a full backup of all your important data and settings like contacts, pictures, videos, music before proceeding to the rooting instructions.
Make sure that the battery level of your Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C should be at least about 60-70 charged to avoid unexpected shutdowns during the rooting process.
Steps To Root Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C on Android 6.0.1:
Step No 1:- First download and install Samsung USB Drivers for your Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C on your PC. If you have already Samsung USB Drivers installed on your PC then Skip this Step and go ahead.
Step No 2: Download CF-Auto Root file on your PC and unzip the root files on the desktop. Once the file are extracted, you’ll see these files:
Step No 3:- Turn OFF the Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C to boot into Download Mode.
Step No 4:- Now turn ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power keys at same time for a few seconds to enter into Download Mode.
Step No 5:- While your phone is in the Download mode and shows a Warning Yellow Triangle Sign, then press the Volume Up key to continue.
Step No 6:- Run Odin3 that you have already downloaded (Step No 2) and you can find it in the extracted files on your computer.
Step No 7:- Connect your device with PC using its USB data cable.
Step No 8:- Once the Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C is connected to the computer successfully, “Added” message will be displayed on Odin automatically after the device is recognized.
Step No 9:- Click on the AP button in Odin and select the CF-Auto-Root.tar file
Step No 10:- Next, click on the Start button in Odin to initiate the Flashing process.
Step No 11:- This flashing process might take 30-50 seconds to finish the rooting process on your Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C. After the rooting process is successfully completed, a Green Box with Pass text will be appeared in Odin and your device will re-boot automatically.
Step No 12:- Now, disconnect your phone from the PC. Open Applications Menu on your Smartphone and find SuperSU App to check either your device is successfully rooted or not. If you can see the SuperSU app then you administrative rights over the internal file system of your device.
You can also install Root Checker app to verify that your device is successfully rooted or not.
