Before Getting Started:

  • Make a complete backup of all your existing data and applications, in case anything goes wrong then you’ll able to restore your data back.
  • Navigate to Settings > Personal > Lockscreen and Security> Find my mobile and turn off Reactivation Lock.
  • Enable USB Debugging from Settings > Developer options.

Steps to Install Android 7.0 Nougat OTA on Galaxy S7 Active (SM-G891A) via Stock Recovery:

Step 1: First, download the firmware OTA Zip files ( on the desktop of your computer. (It contains 2 OTA .zip files). Rename the first one to

Step 2: Now, copy/paste the Android 7.0 OTA firmware .zip file to the root folder of your SDcard.

Step 3: Power off your device in order to boot into Recovery.

Step 4: Power ON the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge into the recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time until you get into the stock recovery.

Step 5: After entering into the recovery mode, select apply update from external storage option.

Step 6: Locate the Android 7.0 firmware file that you have already transferred to the root folder of your SDcard in Step 2. Select the file.

Step 7: Click Yes to apply.

Step 8: Once the firmware is installed successfully, reboot your phone using reboot system now option.

Step 9: When your phone boots up, rename the next file to and copy it to the root folder of your SDcard.

Step 10: Install the file using the same steps you flashed the first file.
