Data Backup: Take a full backup of all your important data and settings like contacts, pictures, videos, music before proceeding to the instructions.
Download and install USB drivers for Moto G4 Plus on your PC.
Enable USB debugging option on your device: Settings > Development Options > USB debugging.
Note:- If you can’t find Developer Options on your phone, then go to Settings > About Phone and tap 7 times on the Build Number. Go back to Settings and there you will see the Developer Options. Now you can enable USB Debugging.
Any custom Recovery like CWM or TWRP should be installed on your device will be replaced with a stock Recovery image.
Make sure that the battery level of your Moto G4 Plus should be at least about 60-70 charged to avoid unexpected shutdowns during the installation process.

Steps to Install Official Lineage OS custom Android 7.1 Nougat ROM on Moto G4 Plus:
Step No 1:- First, download the Android 7.1 firmware file and Google Apps from the above given links.
Step No 2:- Move Android 7.1 ROM and Google Apps package to the internal memory of your device.
Step No 3:- Boot your Moto G4 Plus into Recovery Mode.
- Power off the Moto G4 Plus.
- Press and hold Volume Down + Volume UP + Power buttons at the same time.
- Release all buttons when the Fastboot Mode menu appears.
- Press Power to select Recovery Mode. An Android icon will be appeared.
- Press and hold Power button, then press once the Volume Up button.
Step No 4:- While your Moto G4 Plus is in Recovery Mode, perform wipe data tasks by navigating to the main menu of recovery and choose wipe data / factory reset and confirm the process.
Step No 5:- Now, go back to Recovery menu and select choose zip from sdcard -> Install zip from sdcard. Find the Lineage OS custom ROM file that you have already downloaded it in Step No 1. Confirm the flashing process to begin.
Step No 6:- Once again, go back to main recovery menu and reboot your Moto G4 Plus into the new custom ROM. Your device may take about 4 to 5 minutes to boot for the first after installation.
Step No 7:- Repeat the above process to install Google Apps package on your smartphone.
Done! You’ve successfully installed the Lineage OS Android 7 custom ROM on Moto G4 Plus.
